Don’t Forget--May 8 Votercade for Voting Rights Coming Up!
The CU chapter of Bend the Arc Jewish Action and a coalition of five local organizations are busy making sure that Champaign-Urbana is one of the more than 150 cities nationwide that will hold “votercades” on May 8 in support of the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
The votercade routes have been mapped, and now plans are being made for a celebration with speakers, food, and music at the votercade’s endpoint. Be sure to check this newsletter next week for more details!
Meanwhile, we’re looking for volunteers to livestream our event and to crowdsource needed materials such as water bottles, painter’s tape, posterboard, etc. More information on the national Day of Action is at https://bit.ly/32qFi2V.
