Bend the Arc: CU is hosting a workshop featuring Chicago high school teacher Nora Flanagan, co-creator of “Confronting White Nationalism in the Schools – A Toolkit” (the full creation team is Jessica Acee, Nora Flanagan and Lindsay Schubiner). Nora will present and share her experiences that led to the development of the Toolkit for the Western States Center, which is now distributed nationally. Based on her experience confronting everything from racist graffiti in a school bathroom to students flashing esoteric neo-Nazi hand signals, she will bring a wealth of knowledge to this workshop.
Bend the Arc has a huge stake in confronting antisemitic, racist, islamophobic and anti-immigrant hate groups.
The August 15 workshop will be held from 6:45 to 9 pm at Sinai Temple, 3104 West Windsor Rd, Champaign, IL. Reservations will be taken until 11 pm on August 14th.
