Greetings from Bend the Arc:CU!
We're fresh off our first Zoom Get-Together and raring to go with our next effort—a Zoom get-together at 4 pm Central this Saturday, May 2, to learn how to “Canvass from our Couch.”
This time, our one-hour get-together focuses on important legislative issues calling for immediate phone calls and emails to our legislators. In our first half-hour we’ll discuss how to advocate for:
-
national Vote By Mail,
-
emergency funding of the Post Office with no strings attached, and
-
the need to open up enrollment via the Affordable Care Act for everyone.
We want this discussion to be interactive so we can learn what's important to you.
Our last half-hour will be devoted to learning how to phone- and text-bank for Betsy Dirksen Londrigan, featuring live and interactive instruction from Aaron Ladzinski, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's field manager for IL-13. If you've never done phone- or text-banking before, you'll be surprised at how fun and easy it is—truly canvassing from your couch!
